Kodansha’s Latest Manga Announcements Give Readers Plenty to Look Forward to in 2027
Manga collectors have some new additions to consider for next year’s shelves. On October 15, Kodansha announced a selection of upcoming English-language print releases at Kodansha House NY, covering everything from suspense and supernatural stories to romance and science fiction. The announcement includes additions to its Kodansha Print Club lineup alongside new series scheduled for fall 2027.
Among the early arrivals are Burn the House Down and When Arika Went Missing, both scheduled for January 2027. Readers looking for something stranger can watch for Daisuke Igarashi’s Kamakura Bakeneko Club: Uncanny Cat Tales in February and Umwelt and Other Stories in March. Another intriguing release is Ark of the Canaries, a single-volume science-fiction manga by Skip and Loafer creator Misaki Takamatsu, arriving in April.
The fall announcements offer another mix of genres, including the romantic comedy Tell Me, Dear Butler, the sequel Hitorijime Boyfriend: Re, and the supernatural school story Occult Times. These are upcoming releases, so readers should distinguish their 2027 publication windows from this October’s announcement. Kodansha says preorder information for the new Print Club titles will become available in the coming months.
For us at Anime HQ, the appeal is the chance to discover something outside our usual reading habits. A familiar creator might draw us toward science fiction, while an unusual premise could introduce us to an entirely new favorite. Building a reading list is part of the fun—and this announcement gives manga fans several directions to explore. Which of these titles would earn a place on your shelf?
